LiteOn released their December revenue yesterday, announcing that it had reached NT$ 20.18 billion (US $670 million), a monthly and yearly increase of 3 percent and 16 percent respectively making it the highest single month for 2013. Increase of end market demands spurred continual growth for core technologies, said LiteOn. Consolidated revenue for 4Q13 was NT$ 59.23 billion, showing unusually good performance for a slack season with quarterly and yearly growth of 4 percent and 12 percent respectively, the highest single quarter revenue in two and a half years. Revenue for all of 2013 reached NT$ 212.8 billion.
December revenue for LiteOn subsidiary LED component and lighting application products grew 30 percent from last December. This encompassed North American market’s increased demand for energy conserving LED street lights and bid shipments. Single month revenue grew almost 40 percent and an annual growth of around 10 percent. Additionally, single month revenue for automotive lighting applications increased almost 30 percent YoY.
Continual monthly revenue growth for power solutions was stimulated by benefits from increase in global demand for high-end cloud computing devices and server power management systems, as well as mobile devices and game consoles. December revenue increased almost 10 percent from the same period last year in this area. Expansion of high grade camera component production, smooth shipments, and increased global market proportion for panel computer and smartphones, monthly and yearly revenue grew 10 and 50 percent respectively, breaking revenue records for four consecutive months.
