The Guangdong Solid State Lighting Industry Innovation Center (GSC) recently announced plans of establishing a LED patent alliance in China during a talk at LED business patent management forum in Guangdong Province, according to a recent report from Chinese-media Intellectual Property News.

The report did not offer further details about when the forum will be established, or membership criteria.

GSC’s recent forum addressed issues including helping Chinese manufacturers manage patent infringement risks in oversea markets, and avoiding patent barriers. The center explored LED lighting product intellectual property deployment and quality control with the aim of assisting Chinese manufacturers understanding of intellectual property rights policies. The center also promoted cooperation between different manufacturers in coping with challenges from international competitors.
