Taiwanese lighting manufacturer Tons Lightology saw growth for their private brand in China and Taiwan during 2013, benefiting from the booming LED lighting market. Revenue proportions for the company’s brand made up less than 10 percent in 2012, but increased up to 14-15 percent in 2013. Continuing to increase the brand’s revenue proportions is the company’s main goal for 2014. Revenue growth is anticipated to increase to 50 percent according to predictions from law persons.
The gradual maturity of LED lighting can be seen through the increasing proportion of the company’s LED products. Tons LED light source products officially reached 50 percent in 2012 and 60 percent by 2013. LED light source proportions are estimated to continue rising in 2014, said the company. However, Tons will not leave the traditional halogen and florescent lamp market. The company plans to continue the product line and just adjust it according to client demand.
The company’s revenue performance was driven by the LED lighting market and private brand TON:. Revenue for December reached NT $110 million (US $3.7 million) with the highest single month performance for 2013. Revenue for 2013 was also impacted by OEM orders and reached NT $1.06 billion for the whole year, a slight decrease of 10.99 percent from 2012.
Revenue performance in 2013 was affected by mediocre Europe and Southeast Asia OEM order performance. However, products launched in Taiwan and China showed good performance, increasing proportions from less than 10 percent in 2012 up to 14-15 percent in 2013. According to the company’s statistics, revenue for their private brand reached up to 50 percent in 2013. The company hopes that in 2014, aside from actively receiving OEM orders, to return order numbers to the same level as in 2012. In addition, they plan to continue expanding the brand’s revenue proportions and are optimistic about its continued operation growth.
